Camino set for April 6th, 2023
I am booked and excited to begin. This is my first post and invite anyone to offer tips to a Camino first timer. My route begins in SJPP and ends in Santiago. Gear, I think that I am well supplied but if there is any special suggestion for anything from hydration tips to foot protections, I welcome your tips.
I will need to get a SIM card for my Iphone or Android. Are there locations in SJPP to get one? Also, how reliable is the internet along the trail. Weak spots or hot spots now to anyone?
Thank you
Roberta

There are bars or cafeterias where you will be able to refill water, in addition to fountains along the routes. We recommend that you start with at least 1.5 litres of water in a water bottle, on the morning of each walk. Please refer to our article on packing for the Camino HERE.
On arrival at the airport, there are good opportunities to purchase a local SIM card. This may also be possible in Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port. The internet in Spain is very good, and most of the bars and cafeterias, restaurants and nearly all hotels will have a reliable internet connection, which you can request access to. During the Camino, there are no internet hot spots, and your signal may be much weaker at times, however, the towns will allow much better access.
